| Skeleton Clocks |
A second half of the 19th century lacquered brass Sir Walter Scott Memorial Skeleton antique clock by Evans of Handsworth sitting on a carrera white marble rectangular base mounted on an original cut brass inlayed rosewood plinth attributed to William Frederick Evans of Handsworth, the typical spired frame with four buttresses and the cast figures of Sir Walter Scott and his dog and pierced silvered chapter ring with fancy roman numerals and trefoil hands, the single chain fusee movement with six spokes wheels and vertically mounted English type lever platform escapement with plain gilt three arm monometallic balance and Harrison type maintaining power, circa 1860, In 1850 Evans produced his famous skeleton clock which was based on the Scott Memorial. This was shown at the great exhibition 1851 and is now in the city museum and art gallery. The clock proved to be extremely popular and he started to produce them in limited numbers. | Military Watches | A
rare Glashutte World War II Luftwaffe Pilots Watch, First introduced to the
German Luftwaffe in 1941, the 'Tutima' Flieger Chronograph was the first all
German military chronograph made by UROFA-UFAG. Its quality stood up to
comparison with those produced by their Swiss counterparts. It was an
immediate success and was used by German fighter pilots throughout W.W.II.
Outside the case bears the serial number 203881 which is also stamped on the
movement. Movement is of superior quality retaining fine regulation. Later
Tutina's have lower quality finish to wheels and bridges and lower quality
