antique and very fine quality original satin gilt bronze case repeating
carriage clock by Henry Jacot, the cast bronze satin gilt case with full
outside columns to the corners and a scroll shaped top carrying handle, the
substantially heavy satin gilt bronze case still retaining all its original
thickly cut and bevelled crystal glasses which are all in a perfect
condition, the repeating 8-day French signed and numbered movement striking
the hours and half hours on a gong with original large size English lever
platform escapement and fully cut bi-metallic balance, the movement signed
by Henry Jacot and numbered 9799, the perfect white enamel dial with black
Roman numerals & Arabic minute markers, the finely hand finished gilt Louis
XV style type hands, circa 1890 8” x 4 ¼” x 3 ¾ ”

| Antique Carriage Clocks |
An absolute gem of a small antique carriage repeater,
the gilt/brass case has four fluted pillars with finely
detailed Corinthian pillar caps, carrying handle, top
inspection glass and stands on bracket feet.
The Ivoreen dial has Arabic numerals and gilt
minute ring and is decorated with applied ormolu
frieze with bamboos, birds and butterflies and is
signed Ritchie and Son, Paris.
The “8 day” movement has a 13 jewel silvered
lever escapement platform and strikes the hours
and half hours on a gong with repeat facility. The
backplate has the monogram E.M & Co.
Height 11cms only.
