Antique Mantel Clocks  An English 20th century long duration skeleton clock timepiece with very high gearing, 4 fusee type spring barrels, date and year dials, the cast bronze shield shaped frame with four large spring barrels driving two fusee’s, the high count gear train giving 3-months or a year duration? Antique Skeleton Clock

A second half of the 19th century lacquered brass Sir Walter Scott Memorial Skeleton antique clock by Evans of Handsworth sitting on a carrera white marble rectangular base mounted on an original cut brass inlayed rosewood plinth  attributed to William Frederick Evans of Handsworth, the typical spired frame with four buttresses and the cast figures of Sir Walter Scott and his dog and pierced silvered chapter ring with fancy roman numerals and trefoil hands, the single chain fusee movement with six spokes wheels and vertically mounted English type lever platform escapement with plain gilt three arm monometallic balance and Harrison type maintaining power, circa 1860, In 1850 Evans produced his famous skeleton clock which was based on the Scott Memorial. This was shown at the great exhibition 1851 and is now in the city museum and art gallery. The clock proved to be extremely popular and he started to produce them in limited numbers. Even though the original was a two train with balance wheel and had a relatively detailed frame and marble base, those that were produced after varied greatly, 15" x 9" x 6"

Geyr, Paris, the upright portico gilt bronze case with four tapering fluted Corinthian columns topped by four elaborate well cast Corinthian capitals all supporting a Turret clock or Industrial type top section, the waterfall automation mechanism contained within the wooden ebonised base started via a brass push-pull plunger located on the right hand side of the base section, the French Mid 19th century unusual 3-week movement signed in hand by H Geyr, Paris with hour and half hour strike on a large bell surmounted at the top, striking via linkage, the white enamel chapter ring with black Roman numerals signed H Geyr, Paris with trefoil type hands, circa 1860 26" x 12" x 8"
