A 1942 German Naval U-boat (Kriegsmarine) centre seconds bulkhead timepiece, the 5.75 inch silvered Arabic dial marked with an M below an eagle and the serial number 6699 with an N below for North Sea (Nordsee), the polished brass stepped case with a lockable waterproof bezel, this clock is one of six that would have been carried on board a U-boat, the 8-day going barrel movement by Junghans with the original lever platform escapement, circa 1942 , Case numbered 16457 on the rear with matching movement number 16457 8-inches round

A very fine quality turn of the century Black forest 30-hour weight driven Cuckoo and Quail wall clock, the profusely carved walnut Chalet style case carved with vines and leaves surmounted by a carved roof pediment in the form of leaves and a cuckoo bird, the very well made quarter striking skeletonised brass plated movement with original wooden type round bob pendulum, striking on the quarters with the Quail with the inclusion of the Cuckoo on the hour, the original carved bone hands of an intricate pattern, the original hand painted wooden birds with flapping wings and moving beaks, circa 1900, this clock is in very good condition and works perfectly. 23” x 17” x 7”
