An English fine quality and very original Rosewood and mother
of Pearl early Victorian four-piece wheel barometer by Whitmore and Sons,
Birmingham, the fine quality cabinet made rosewood case heavily inlayed with
mother of pearl all over in the form of Swans and foliage surmounted by an
scroll shaped top, the silvered engraved 10” diameter main-register,
contained within a cast polished brass bezel with convex glass, the bayonet
fixed mercury thermometer with silvered engraved scale, the bottom with a
spirit level signed Whitmore, Birmingham, the top with a silvered scale
hydrometer, this barometer is in very good condition with no loses to the
mother of pearl, circa 1850 40” x 13” x 3”
