Victorian quarter striking on 9-tubes bracket clock by W & H with moon
roller, the very large size impressive carved mahogany case with chamfered
sides to the front, the bell top design carved in the form of swags and
roses with two large wooden red silk covered side sound fret panels opening
as side doors, the massive W & H three train chain fusee movement striking
the Westminster or Whittington on 4 or 8 tubes every quarter hour with hour
strike on a further full length side mounted tube, the 13” x 19” – inch
engraved silver dial with slow/fast adjuster, Westminster/ Whittington tune
selector and Strike/silent surmounted by a painted moon roller in the break
arch, Circa 1890-1900, the biggest bracket clock we have ever seen which
sounds like Big Ben on striking
