ebonised and gilt bronze mounted substantial 3-train 8-bell bracket clock,
the George III style ebonised case heavily decorated with well cast gilt
bronze caryatids to the corners, pierced gilt bronze side frets with
mermaids surmounted by 5-flaming finials sitting on four heavily well cast
toupee feet also with side carrying handles, the substantial English three
train movement chiming the quarter hours for Westminster chime on 4- bells
or Whittington on 8-bells with hour strike on a large gong, the one-piece
silvered dial with three subsidiaries for hour strike/silent, tune selection
( 8 / 4 bells) and tune strike/silent, circa 1880-90 27” x 16” x 9”
