An English late 19th century Victorian substantially well made and fine quality small size solid mahogany 8-tube quarter-chiming eight day longcase clock by Sir John Bennett Ltd, 65 Cheapside London, the brass dial with a signature plaque to matted centre and subsidiary seconds, the break-arch to the dial with two silvered subsidiary rings for chime / silent and Whittington / Westminster chime selection, the substantial three train quarter striking movement with dead beat escapement, maintaining power and hour strike on a gong, the quarter chimes are on eight tubular nickelled gongs all signed GB, circa 1900, original winding crank key and door keys. 83” x 17” x 12”
