lovely quality waisted case green tortoiseshell and cut brass French mid
19th century boulle clock with gilt bronze mounts by Archille Brocourt and
Deletreze(ABD) retailed by Howell and James, to the Queen, the green
tortoiseshell waisted type case with tortoiseshell and engraved cut brass
sides, front and back surmounted by a gilt ormolu finial and draping foliage
mounts, the French signed and numbered mid 19th century movement chiming the
hours and half hours on a bell, the signed 13-piece enamel cartouche dial
with Blue Roman numerals and blued steel spade type hands, this clock is in
perfect condition and all the brass and tortoiseshell are in excellent
order, top retailer and maker, unusual to have the back with boulle work
too, circa 1870, 12” x 6 ½ ” x 4” |
