the Louis XVI style porcelain and ormolu case with original mercury gilding
surmounted by an urn, the whole case inset with finely painted floral panels
depicting lovers decorated with applied jewelling, the dial with Roman
numerals and gilt hands, the 8-day French movement by Japy Freres with
Brocot escapement and rack-striking on a bell, , circa 1870 17” x 9” x 5”
