large size French late 19th century Louis XV style tortoiseshell and cut
brass boulle clock surmounted by a cherub, the very high quality
tortoiseshell case with waisted shape sides and an aperture to the front
revealing the sunburst cherub head pendulum with boulle work to the inside
of the case also, sitting on four ormolu rococo style feet, the case
decorated with gilt bronze rococo mounts, the 14-day signed and numbered
French movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell, the 12-piece
enamel cartouche dial with black Roman numerals, circa 1870, original
numbered pendulum 27” x 12 ” x 7 ” |
