red tortoiseshell and ormolu mounted mantel clock surmounted by a ringed
carrying handle, the very high quality scarlet red tortoiseshell case
with straight shaped sides and an arch top inlayed with brass lines, the
case decorated with gilt bronze rococo mounts to the front, the 8-day
signed and numbered French movement striking the hours and half hours on
a bell with an original back mounted cylinder platform escapement, the
1-piece convex enamel dial with blue Roman numerals, the front bezel set
with paste stones, circa 1870 10” x 5 ” x 3 ” (With Handle Raised)
