An extremely rare and unusual early 19th century English Helical gearing month going Skeleton clock under rectangular glass dome signed and numbered by Charles Mc Dowall's, Patent, Helix lever, Number 139, St John's Wakefield, the fine quality single chain thin long fusee now converted to bronze wire line, the month going movement with 4 very substantial unusual shaped stepped pillars with helical gearing and also unusual matching stepped shaped gear collets to all the 3 bronze helical gears with dead-beat escapement and very substantially thick movement plates, the original arc shaped heavy bobbed pendulum suspended from a top cock with beat adjustment via two thumb screws, the unusual form of blued steel hands with the hour hand in the form of a moon and the minute being of the straight variety, the signed and numbered two piece silvered engraved dial with Black Roman numerals, circa 1850 16" x 9" x 7"Height of dome&base
