 A Regency drop dial timepiece in a richly patinated mahogany case.  the octagonal surround has fretted brass inlays with carved sidepieces underneath.  the drop has a brass framed window to display the pendulum bob and a curved locking door all decorated with brass inlays.  The 12" painted dial has Roman numerals and is signed, "Grimalde & Johnson, Strand, London" with blue steel hands within a brass bezel with convex glass.  The 8 day fusee movement has turned pillars and anchor escapement.  Grimalde & Johnson were working in London from 1809 to 1828.
