A very decorative and original Verge Escapement French Wall Hanging Comtoise/Morbier Clock Signed and Dated By Reocreux, A St Etienne Dated 1845, the black painted rectangular steel open cage type two train 8-day weight driven movement with verge escapement and double striking two minutes after the hour in case the farmer missed the first set of hour strikes, the very decorative pressed brass repousee type front in the form of a fan and flowers containing a white convex enamel dial with black Roman numerals signed Reocreux, A St Etienne and dated 1845, the beautifully polished and engraved pierced brass hands in the form of stars or sunburst, the original folding type steel pendulum with round polished brass bob and cast steel shaped weights, circa 1845 17" x 11" x 6"
