A Four train Musical clock, Chiming Cambridge on 4 bells, Striking on a fifth bell and playing music on the hour – when striking is finished. There is a ¼ setting lever which also doubles as a repeat lever. Music can also be played at will.
The clock also shows the Day of the week, including AM or PM, the Day of the month, The month and the Phases of the Moon. The moon phase is geared to give a lunation 0f 29-days, 12-hours, 44-minutes and 2.877 seconds. It also has centre half seconds. For a peaceful night the clock will switch off all actions, except time, for eight hours. This period of silence can be adjusted to be set at the owners preference. Should the night silent be removed, by a competent clock maker, The music will still play for a full week.
The small knob, inserted into the left front of the base is for adjustment of the calendar but the hands are on friction for ease of adjustment. Care should be taken that the clock is not set twelve hours out for the night silent. The time on the night silent dial points toward the centre arbour.
The chimes will only go out of sequence after the clock has been advanced or the front, chime release cord has been pulled. Only correct the chimes when the minute hand shows Quarter Past.
